The 2019 Golf Classic

Hendon RFC rounded out the 2018-19 season at the weekend as they hosted their inaugural Golf Classic at Batchworth Park Country Club.

Over 50 players, both past and present, supporters and friends of the club gathered to celebrate an exceptional campaign for the Greenlands Lane outfit. Some of which had clearly never played Golf before!

The first XV won 11 out of 12 fixtures since the turn of the year, which resulted in a third-place finish in the league.

The group were also victorious against previously-unbeaten London Scottish Lions to lift the Middlesex Cup.

The second XV finished third in an extremely competitive league and reached their cup final, a reassuring sign of how far they have come over the past 12 months.

Beyond the celebration of a successful 2018/19 season, the day was also purposed as an initiative to raise money that could fund further improvements in 2019/20.

Hendon head coach Phil Smith explained: "All funds raised will go directly to improving the player experience, including regular physio support, improved clubhouse facilities, new training equipment and additional coaching support."

AON Contracts headlined the day as main sponsor, alongside supporting sponsors Ground Construction, The Claddagh Ring, JAMM Recruitment, and The Bodhran.
